What is it
The Small Business Fees and Charges Rebate is relief provided by the NSW Government to all sole traders, small business owners and non-profit organisations in NSW to help them recover from the impacts of COVID-19.
After you successfully apply, you can submit multiple claims until the full value is reached.
This rebate can be used to offset the costs of eligible NSW and local government fees and charges due and paid from 1 March 2021. These include, but are not limited to:
• food authority licences
• liquor licences
• tradesperson licences
• event fees
• outdoor seating fees
• council rates
• road user tolls for business use.

The rebate cannot be used for fines or penalties, Commonwealth government charges, rent on government premises, or taxes.
Originally starting at a $1,500 rebate, the NSW Government had increased the rebate to $2,000 in November 2021.
As COVID-19 continues the Government is expanding the rebate to $3,000 in late March 2022 to provide further relief for businesses so they can also apply for this rebate for costs incurred in obtaining rapid antigen tests(RATs) for use by the business (i.e., its employees, customers and suppliers), in addition to licence fees and registration paid to the NSW Government.
